Alaska Cruise Review
Alaska Cruise Travel
By Theresa Gruben
One of the most breathtaking vacations you could adventure to is a cruise to Alaska. Each port of call is a wonderful journey. In our own personal adventure - it was incredible! We witnessed glaciers, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, bald eagles, whales, bears, and salmon swimming up stream.
Hubbard Glacier, the largest glacier in North America, is breath taking beyond words. Our gracious captain eased the ship into the bay just two-tenths of a mile from the glacier.
Skagway, the site of the gold rush in 1898. Sightseeing by train on a 4 hour tour alongside flowing creeks and beautiful spruce trees is the way to go! The smell was wonderful as we choose to stand outside between the rail cars. Suddenly I knew for sure we were far away from Texas when we breathed that fresh cool air.
Juneau, the capitol of Alaska,. There is no road out of this city, but who would want to leave anyway? It is quite a large town and the shops were are plenty.
Ketchikan is the salmon capital of the world. The shops lie above water on stilts as the salmon swam hurriedly up stream. Now where can you see that?
Cruising through Misty Fjords National Monument with narrow waterfalls all around was spectacular. The ship took us in and out of the beautiful awe inspiring sights one can never forget.
As we ended our trip, we went sightseeing in Vancouver, B.C. This is a great city with wonderful parks throughout. We will always treasure our time spent in Alaska and will definitely make our way back again and again. Take someone you love, it is something to share.
Seeing our great countries highlights makes you very proud to be an American!
